How to use this guide
This guide will show you how to cite frequently-used sources in APA format. Click on the tabs above to cite print materials (books, print copies of articles, etc.), articles from library databases, and web sites.
Preparing the Reference List
See pp. 223-226 of the APA style manual.
The last section of the research paper is the reference list, entitled References. Double-space within and between entries, and use a 1/2 inch hanging indent. Capitalize only proper nouns and the first word of the title (and the subtitle, if there is one) of a book and periodical article. Capitalize each word in a periodical title, except for conjunctions and prepositions. Do not enclose a periodical article title in quotation marks. Italicize book and periodical titles.
Parenthetical Documentation
See pp. 207-214 of the APA style manual.

The citation will vary depending on the context of the sentence and number of authors, but the most basic citation would look like this:
Cognitive or personality style differences traditionally have been ignored in the field of human learning and memory (Eysenck, 1977).
